Today we visited Accentra Credit Union and spoke with several team members. We discovered that individuals with more credit cards often achieve a better credit score because this expands the available credit pool and reduces utilization. We had the chance to explore various loan types and the loan process. We reviewed credit reports while exploring how FICO scores work and why it’s important. Students learned about the board of directors and how these members are elected by the overall membership. They gave us an exciting hands-on activity of getting to look through and understand a few credit reports. We also played a fun game of credit myth or fact!
