This morning we met with Jason Baskin, Director of Retail Strategy and Business Transformation at Hormel Foods and Austin City Council Member, who walked us through the art of the handshake and small talk. Students learned that there is a lot more to shaking hands than just holding out your hand! Jason gave great tips about topics to avoid, how to engage, eye contact, and the firmness of a grip.

🤝 Work to build a natural connect.
🤝 Be firm with your handshake.
🤝 It can be awkward, but if you work at this it will become easier.
🤝First impressions matter and can have a lasting impact.

It was a great morning! If you see a CEO student out and about, shake their hand!
