Today we visited Astrup Companies which was founded in 1952. They have worked hard of the years to provide service to customers has been maintained at a high level. Astrup is doing many things to keep their company thriving and their pharmacy is the core of their business. Students learned about the many areas of the business including long term care pharmacies, speciality pharmacies, Smart Fill, and the Astrup Foundation.

We met with a few different members of their leadership team. Sam Ewing, President and Chief Brand Officer of Astrup Companies, started with the company by working at Sterling Main Street prior to moving over to the corporate office. Ellen Bang, Astrup Controller, shared about her work in public accounting prior to joining Astrup. Students learned about what a controller does and how this supports the company. Ellen reminded students to keep their options open. Jeremy Johnson has worked with the company from age 15. He shared about his journey from sweeping the floors and observing the company to where he is today as the Chief Operating Officer. He is also the father of one of our current students !

- Build relationships!
- Work hard and you will succeed!
- You can be versatile in your career even if you are not in your degree field!

It was a great visit and are so thankful for their support of the CEO Program!
