This morning we met with John Garry, Nan Hanegraaf, and Lindsey Hernandez at the Development Corporation of Austin. The Development Corporation of Austin works with manufactures who want to come to Austin, retention and expansion in Austin, and entrepreneurs who are developing new businesses in Austin. They explained that economic development helps to bring more opportunities for workers to the community and the hope is that they will then live in the community as well which will keep businesses growing and the community growing. Students were able to give feedback during an interactive survey about the future of Austin. It was a great morning and we appreciate the commitment the DCA continues to have with CEO!
