Last Thursday we met with Accentra Credit Union. They are currently our home base and also an investor in the program! Students learned about the differences between a credit union and banks. We found that credit unions focus on financial literacy and providing customers with financial counseling in order to help them be successful with their finances. The team also shared about requirements for a loan, how IT protects it’s customers private information, how debt will negatively impact you, and that when creating a business plan they should understand it is a living document that they can continue to update and discuss.
