Thursday morning we met with Nick Haidar at HyVee. He shared that HyVee started in 1929 and over time has grown to being in eight states. The Austin HyVee has about 55,000 items in their store, so they have to know the inventory well and make sure they are staying on top of when to order. He commented that one way they are able to stay ahead with competitors is by having a large variety of items and options within those items. He shared about price comparisons with competitors which is something customers look for and is important to keep on top of as a store. Another unique aspect of HyVee is that they offer training to their employees and ways to empower them to grow and develop within the company. It is clear that they have a large focus on customer service and experience that keeps people coming back! We had an alumni spotting as well! Thanks for a great visit and for investing in CEO!
