This morning we had a great visit at West Oakland Auto Repair with Jose Rodriguez Cifuentes and Cecelia Cifuentes. They started their business in 2012 and eventually moved locations and have continued to grow their services. When they moved to the new location they were working full days in the shop and then remodeling the new location late at night. They are very much family run and have many relatives as part of their team which is currently eleven employees. They shared about how they connect with the community and advertise their business in a way that has allowed them to continue to grow. They were recognized as the Minority Owned Small Business of the Year in 2023 for the State of Minnesota. This was a big honor and they have worked hard to achieve this recognition.

Their son and former CEO student, Javier, stopped in and shared some advice as well. He told students they shouldn’t be discouraged by people who know more than them because those people can be the tool for you to learn. He encouraged them to keep yourself humble and open to learning because that is when you will really grow. Javier encouraged them to be confident in what they know, but willing to grow. He shared that his time in CEO really prepared him for the future and gave him skills that have set him up to succeed.

One more element that made this visit unique was that their daughter was also present and is an incoming CEO student for next year! Austin Public Schools Pacelli Catholic Schools
