Today we visited the Austin YMCA. We were able to tour the building and students were able to do a little team building in the nerf and gymnastics area. We also met with a few of the directors to hear more about the building, programs, and the future of the YMCA. The YMCA is a community non profit organization run by the Y Board of Directors. They have 9 full time employees, 120 employees overall, and around 320 volunteers who keep the Y running. With the Austin Community Rec Center being set to open in the near future, the Y plans to increase their employees to about 175. Students were able to see visuals of the new building and asked some good questions about transitioning to a new facility. Thanks to the YMCA for a great visit!
