This morning we met with a variety of leaders from the Mayo Clinic including Melissa Barr, Tom Boose, Ann Langstaff, Jim Rudd, Dr. Mark Ciota, and Kris Johnson. We met online but were able to experience lots of areas of the clinic. One of the first things we heard about was the robot that is used to clean high risk areas called Mona. The clinic has two of these and the robots have really changed how they can eliminate the transfer of viruses. This robot helps reduce the transfer of C.Diff, but also can eliminate many other viruses. Dr. Ciota shard a lot about leadership and what it takes to be a good leader. He emphasized that leaders do the following: show integrity, select the right people for your team, communicate, make decisions, and you understand they will make mistakes! This is excellent information for our students to understand! Kris Johnson talked about how you can give back in your community and why this is so important to make that connection and give back. This can help you have a balance in your life, but also allows you to network and have new experiences. We appreciate Mayo taking the time to visit with us as we know they are incredibly busy. Thank you for all you are doing to keep our community safe and healthy, especially throughout this past year! Austin Public SchoolsPacelli Catholic Schools
